75 million kuna of investments in 2007
By the year 2008 Viro sugar factory plans to increase daily sugar production from the current 750 tons to 1000 tons a day. For that reason in May 2007 the contract on buying equipment of the sugar factory Ormož from Slovenia, worth 4.5 million euro, was signed. Since the factory from Ormož is technologically homologue with Viro, the new equipment will enable more effective production and savings in the upcoming remount interventions. One of more important investments in this year is also the construction of a storage and production hall worth over 20 million kuna.
In mid June Viro sugar factory was assigned the Halal certificate which means that production processes and products of Viro sugar factory are conformed to food standards of members of Islamic confession. The Halal certificate will make possible export of more sugar to the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina which registers a constant increase of demand for Halal products and it will also make easier to great buyers and partners of Viro to obtain the certificate. |
