Virovitica, December 13, 2006 – Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE) – County Chamber Virovitica assigned the award Zlatna kuna to Viro Sugar Factory, for the most successful large company in Virovitica – Podravina County during the last year. Viro Sugar Factory got this award for the third year in a row.
The most significant annual award of CCE is an additional confirmation of successful business activities of Viro Sugar Factory and its contribution to Virovitica – Podravina County development, as well as to the entire Croatian economy. During the last year, Viro Sugar Factory accomplished the best business results in its history, which is a result of several-years of investments into educating the employees, factory modernization and capacities enlargement.
«The third Zlatna kuna is a confirmation of persistence in our successful business activities, which made Viro Sugar Factory one of the greatest exporters in food industry. However, we are aware that there is always some additional space for further growth and development; so our ambitions are reaching far beyond our region’s boundaries”, stated Damir Barić, CEO of Viro Sugar Factory.
Viro Sugar Factory additionally confirmed its position among the successful Croatian companies, by IPO and entering the Official market at Zagreb Stock-Exchange in April 2006. The investments amounting 47 million kuna made this factory even more competitive in the Croatian as well as the international markets. By opening the plant for pasteurized liquid sugar production in August 2006, Viro became the only manufacturer of this type of sugar in the region. |
